Metadata is the data regarding concerned data and is generally defined as data describing the properties of information resources, and provides information such as the characteristics of resources and content. UCI identification metadata is defined as the collection composed of the elements that enable users to easily and quickly identify desired resources, though it is not expressed in the syntax.
The elements of identification metadata are unique in the UCI name space. That is, the duplication of metadata elements is not allowed.
Identification metadata consists of only minimal, common and core elements so that all the organizations providing UCI can accept the identification metadata.
Identification metadata consists of basic profile that can be applied in all fields and applied profile configured to be suitable for specific fields.
Identification metadata consists of publicity-possible elements, not private personal information like author's resident identification number, because the information is open to general users
Interoperability is guaranteed for connection with other existing metadata standards. Also, the UCI identification metadata provides the following efficiency.

Encoding scheme sets the domain of value registered to concerned element and restricts allowed values. The encoding scheme exists in six elements (UCI, identifier, type, mode, format, contributorRole) among a total of 13 elements in UCI, and the listing is as follows.
